Yeah...that didn't work out so great. Let's put it this way, the marks on the string were so bad I couldn't even get a picture.
But then I went to Pinterest and tried again and found this tutorial using white thread and embroidery floss.

My version actually came out really well! It was super easy to do, and I love that I can make this in any colors, and I can even combine colors other than white, as long as I have the thread!
