Week in the Life 2015 {Tuesday}

Tuesday was another at home day. Most of my days lately are.

Some mornings I wake up with AJ's alarm (between 4:10am and 5:15am, depending on if he is going to the gym). Other mornings I sleep through it and wake up later. Tuesday was a later day. Fortunately! But my mornings almost always start out with Cheerios.

I've been re-watching The Office on Netflix lately. Right now, I'm mid season 8, and definitely noticing the change from Steve Carell's departure from the show. That is the worst part about binge watching, a decline that seemed gradual in real time just smacks you in the face when you watch the episodes one after another.

I was also working on yesterday's Week in the Life blog post...and you can still see Monday's laundry hanging on the drying rack (as well as some pictures that still need to be hung).

Relaxing after lunch, enjoying how much this baby likes to move after I've eaten!

Most of the afternoon was spent working on unpacking and organizing. I'd been putting off unpacking this box of clothes, since most won't fit anyway. But I pulled out the cardigans, which I can still wear once the weather cools off, and packed the rest up into rubbermaid bins to go into storage for a little while.

Then I decided to tackle my vanity + make up. And watch a bit of Parks and Rec.

I was inspired by the result to work on a few other areas of our bedroom that are often overlooked.

All of my hair products, moisturizers and spa things were sorted through and ones that were expired were tossed. Things I use daily were put in the orange crate (from our wedding), and the others were put in the linen closet with the rest of the "extra" toiletries. I feel like I can use my things now, because I can see them!

And I managed to finally plug in my beside lamp and alarm clock. Seriously, I can't believe it has taken me this long to organize our bedroom. Well, yes, I can. Its always the last room I work on, because I can just shut the door and no one else sees it but us. But it feels so good to have everything organized in here now.

And then it was Tums time. I wasn't immune to heartburn before, but so many things cause it now that I never knew could. Like fruit snacks (which I probably shouldn't be eating anyway, but they're better than candy, right?)

We had kind of a mess up at dinner tonight. The chicken I planned to cook didn't defrost as quickly as I'd hoped (it will be dinner tomorrow night). Fortunately, I had eggs and potatoes in the fridge, so we had breakfast for dinner!

There wasn't much on TV tonight that captured our interest. So AJ decided to read while I worked on this blog post and watched the Mets game on my kindle.

And that's what we are doing now. Well, that and hoping that the tornado watch we are under doesn't become a warning. I really don't want to go hang out in our laundry room basement in my pjs with my neighbors!

Week in the Life 2015 {Monday}

This is one of my favorite project of the year. And this year, it came at a perfect time. I finally feel ready to get back into crafting (now that our home is almost entirely set up). Or maybe its this project that is pushing me back into it, I'm just not sure...but either way, I'm so excited to be back into crafting.

This year, I'm planning on using my DSLR more than my iphone for documenting. My DSLR hasn't been out and about often lately. In fact, in the past few months, we've used it mostly for bump pictures. And as a result, I think AJ's used it more than me!

Every morning, I have a cup of decaf tea. Usually in my favorite LOVE mug. Its sitting right beside me right now.

I realized yesterday morning that I can't see my toes (unless I lean way over!) anymore.

Monday is laundry day. Yesterday, I wanted to get caught up on washing sheets that I recently unpacked, in addition to our regular weekly laundry. So I ended up doing seven loads - it took basically all day.

More laundry. We don't dry a lot of our clothes in the dryer. Most of it gets hung up on a drying rack in our living room.

When AJ gets home, he uses the back kitchen door and basically starts doing dishes immediately while we hang out in the kitchen together and catch up on each other's day.

Yesterday we had to run to the grocery store before dinner. I forgot to bring both my DSLR and my phone. Oh well.
After getting back from the store, we relaxed on the couch a bit before I started dinner.

The baby must be a foodie like his or her daddy, because the baby always kicks when I'm cooking!

We tried a new recipe for dinner last night - Tomato and Lentil Salad. AJ loved it, I liked the flavor, but I really didn't like the texture of the lentils (texture is a big thing with me and food). So instead, I made a string cheese and tomato open face sandwich.

And before I knew it, it was time for bed. And now its Tuesday :)

Project Life 2015 {January}

Hi!

How has your summer been? I took a mini break from most social media stuff (except a few instagrams, because I just love pictures so much!), it was kind of nice to step away for a little bit. And as a result, this summer I ended up almost never being on the computer.

You really would have thought that I would have gotten more things done around here with more free time, but I really really didn't. Would you believe we still aren't fully unpacked? There are a few boxes left in our storage room that have to be looked at, but most of them are full of not essential things (non maternity clothes, fine china...)

Fortunately, I found my scrapbook stuff, or most of it. There are still a few albums that are packed up, but I found my 2015 Project Life album!

But I am really behind on it because its been packed up for so long! My album is only completed through March, but I did just order all of the pictures through July, so I should be able to catch up soon - I hope!

{Week 1}

{Week 2}

{Week 3}

{Week 4}

{Week 5}

It was fun to go back and look at these layouts. Its been so long since I've opened this album, and so much has changed since January - back then we were living in Albany, looking at homes up there and just hoping that we'd have a baby on the way soon. And now we are in Chicago, back in an apartment, and best of all, expecting our first child in November!

Its still crazy to me how quickly things changed this year!

Day in the Life {5.12.2015}

Did you participate in Day in the Life with Ali Edwards this year?

I love this project so much. Although last year I never quite figured out how to incorporate my pictures along with Project Life.

This year, I have no idea what I am going to do with the pictures because most of my scrapping supplies are still in my parents' garage waiting to be shipped out here to Chicago. Apparently when U-Haul recommends a 20 foot truck for a three bedroom home, they don't mean a three bedroom home that also includes a scrapper!

So for now, so I don't forget before my papers and everything arrive, I'll share them here!

Now to just finalize a moving quote so I can get everything here and scrap my photos!

Hello Again!

Wow. Its been a long time. Like a seriously long time. I think know its the longest I've ever gone without blogging.

I didn't blog because there was nothing really happy going on for me to blog about. We were feeling stuck and like nothing was working out, no matter how hard we tried. I wasn't scrapping very much, aside from keeping up with Project Life, for the same reasons.

But all at once {literally all on the same day} everything changed. An opportunity to move back to Chicago showed up at the time when we needed it most. To call that day one full of blessings is an understatement.

We knew we had to go, there was no way we could pass this up. Even if the idea of our third move in 14 months, and second cross country move in only six months seemed a little daunting crazy.

But before I knew it, we were packing up several U-Haul trucks (which is a story for another day!) and headed out to Chicago!

I feel like a giant weight has been lifted now that we are back home. I cannot wait to begin blogging again now that we are back to being actually happy - and that is worth blogging about!

December Daily 2014 {Day 11}

Hi everyone!

December Daily has been on pause here. Sadly, my grandmother, my dad's mom, passed away unexpectedly last week.

I am not sure if or how I am going to include the wake and funeral in December Daily. It seems morbid to include it, but weird not to, you know?

I'm going to think about it a while before I make a decision. But I did work on a few other pages this morning. Some I can't include here because some have presents in them and I don't want anyone to see them yet!

"It was supposed to be a relaxing night at home. We were baking Hershey kiss cookies, and making kale + pancetta pasta. Shouldn't have been a very big deal at all.
Until the pancetta starting smoking, not badly, not unlike how pancetta or bacon or anything gets a little smoky when you cook it. But it set off the smoke detector. Which set off the screeching + flashing fire alarm in the apartment.
We were able to get the smoke detectors to stop within minutes by opening the windows and turning on the fan.
But the fire alarm? That went off for an hour. We stood outside in the snow and waited for someone from the apartment complex's maintenance team to come and turn off the alarm!
We ended up ordering sandwiches + the world's biggest calzone for dinner!"

Well I'm off to school now, but I'll have a few more pages tomorrow! What are you up to today?
