Happy Weekend Eve!
On Sunday, I received this award from Tracy at Tracy's Treasures.
So, like any award, there are rules:
1. Include the award logo in the blog post.
2. Thank the blogger who gave it to you and include a link back to them (thanks Tracy!)
3. Answer 10 questions about yourself that you have made up. (I'm going to answer the 10 questions that Tracy answered!)
4. Nominate 10-12 bloggers and contract them at their blog site to inform them!
1. What did you want to grow up to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a teacher and I also wanted to be a stay at home mom. I'm currently a teacher, but I'm not a stay at home mom (yet!)
2. What is your favorite nail polish color?
I really like dark colors, like Wicked or Lincoln Park After Dark. Right now I have no nail polish on and its driving me crazy!
3. I know that you are short like me. Favorite place to purchase clothes?
I'm pretty short (only 5'2"). The only thing I really have trouble with though is jeans. I buy all of my jeans at Lucky (in the short length). Everything else I'll buy anywhere I see something I like. Macy's and J.Crew are two favorites though :) I get a lot of things hemmed.
4. What does blogging do for you?
Well, I started blogging so I could share my scrapbook creations and see what everyone else was doing too. But I didn't expect to have found such a wonderful community of people to share with. Now, blogging has given me my one set of friends that will never be far away - no matter how many times AJ and I move or where we go, my bloggy friends are always just a comment away!
5. Have you always been crafty?
I think so. My mom is very crafty, and she would always do crafts with us when we were young. I tried a lot of different crafts (needle point, crochet, jewelry making...just to name a few!) but paper crafting is definitely my favorite and the one I've stuck with the longest!
6. What is your favorite December holiday tradition?
My favorite is Christmas Eve. We have a big traditional seafood dinner with my Nonni and all my aunts, uncles and cousins. Now that we are all growing up and getting married, I have a feeling these dinners won't last too much longer. But I really do love them.
7. How did you "meet" the person who gave you the award?
Through blogging, of course! I don't know who visited who first, but I love reading Tracy's blog and look forward to checking out her projects and cards!
8. My question for you would be, how did Wayne propose?
Since I know Tracy already told that story, I'll tell the story of how AJ proposed!
One Thursday night, it was supposed to snow in Chicago. AJ had already taken the day off from work, because he was leaving on a big business trip on Sunday and needed to get some things together (or so he told me). He was hoping I'd have a snow day on Friday so we could have the day off together.
Of course, it only snowed a tiny little bit! But he convinced me to call in sick to work (it didn't take too much convincing!)
He told me he forgot his hard hat at work and needed to go get it, but when he got back, did I want to go for a walk to take some pictures of the snow with my new camera. Since I thought it would take him a long time, I decided to do laundry first. When he got back, I hadn't showered or anything yet, so he said he'd get the laundry if I'd get in the shower and get ready.
After I was finally ready, we went for a walk. Where I took pictures of everything and was totally dawdling to photograph random stuff (like a duck on the lake!)
He asked me to take a picture of him in front of the skyline. But he didn't like the picture so he asked me to do it again, except this time, he said "Wait, I think I have something for you."
He said a bunch of lovely stuff, took out the ring and got down on one knee.
I'm pretty sure I said yes...although the whole rest of everything after the ring was a blur!
9. Have you always lived in that little white-starred town?
I grew up on Long Island in New York, and moved to Chicago last summer. We will be moving to Baton Rouge at some point next year!
10. Do you believe you were put on this earth for a reason?
I think we all were. But I think the reason boils down to "be a good person, and help others". So I guess I think we were all put here for the same reason!
11. What is your middle name?
Domenica, after my Nonni :)
So, I'm supposed to give this award to 10 people, but I like what Tracy did instead. If you are reading this, you've won the award! Leave me a link in the comments to your post, I'd love to read your questions and answers!
I'll be back tomorrow with Project Life Week 22 (I'm up to Week 22 right?...)

I loved reading more about you too!! I can totally see you as a stay at home mom one day!! Even though I knew your engagement story, it was great to read it again in detail!
Christmas Eve sounds so special, I hope you can continue it as long as possible!!
Always fun to read more about my bloggy friends! I am always so grateful for the internet because it brings people together from all over the world.
Amazing people I never would have met otherwise :)
Yay for weekend eve!!! I agree with Heather, I can def see you as a stay at home mom :)
The only thing that surprises me, is why didn't you get a picture of AJ proposing to you!? lol That would have been a real keepsake, getting proposed to in the snow is something special! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
I love your answers to these questions.
I too can see you being a great mom "stay at home or not" :)
It doesn't matter how we met, just that we met :)
I also love that both you and Becky used the questions given to me :)
How do you do a linky, that would be so cool.
