Happy Fall! I'm so excited that my favorite season is finally here!
Labor Day has always marked the beginning of fall in my book. We spent Labor Day weekend at the beach saying good bye to summer, and last night putting out all of our fall decor.
There is so much stuff that I love about fall...the cooler weather, sweaters, scarves, apple, fall beers, yummy candles.
This year, instead of a fall list of things to do, I decided to make a list of things to make and eat. Because really, I love my fall foods! And there is nothing like a cool fall day followed by an evening of baking delicious goodies!
Its actually still to warm here to make crockpot potato soup or cheddar apple muffins. But hopefully it will cool down soon! But until then...there are definitely a few Blue Moons in the fridge, and with any luck, I'll find my favorite pumpkin tea at Target this week!
What are you favorite fall treats? I am always looking to try something new!

Make Your Own Vase Fillers with ThermoMorph {Review}
I was provided with this product free of charge for review purposes. All opinions posted here are my own.
Happy Weekend Eve!
While AJ and I were on vacation in South Carolina, Rizzi at ThermoMorph reached out to me and asked if I would review their product.
To be honest, I'd never heard of it before, but when I went on the website, the crafter + the chemistry teacher in me were totally intrigued by these polymorph molable plastic granules.
Basically, they are little white pellets, and when you put them in boiling water, they melt into moldable plastic, then they harden back into hard plastic. And you can buy them on Amazon in a giant tub (500g).
It was really easy to use. You boil some water and let it cool to around 150*F, drop the pellets into the water and wait two minutes for it to get clear. Then you can stretch, mold and play with the plastic.
When I started out, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.
I am not great with free hand molding of things, and I found that the material was hard to cut or trim into shapes with the scissors I have. So I tried a few different things, including making a "bowl" with my giant cupcake pan.
Fortunately, the plastic can be melted again and again, even after you've molded and hardened it. I loved that I could just "melt" my mistakes away! And trust me, I made a lot ofmistakes creative attempts that didn't work out how I imagined.
When I'd had enough for that, I pulled out my molds. I tried out two different ones. The first one I tried was this red one. It is a soft silicone mold. It worked okay, but I found when I tried to squish the plastic into the mold, the mold squished with it, and so my pumpkin was a bit misshapen.
The second one I tried was this orange mold. I think its silicone too, but it is hard so it held up to my squishing!
These little plastic guys came out great! And a coat of orange + green paint made them look like real little pumpkins.
I ended up making this little piece of framed art with some of the pumpkins. {inspired by this pin} I can't wait to add this to my fall decor...in a few months!
Have you ever tried a product like this before? What would you use ThermoMorph for?

The Party Ends + Continues at the Hotel {Wedding Recaps}
We'd gotten married, we'd taken pictures, we'd danced (and danced and danced!) and we'd cut the cake.
And before we knew it, the party was ending.
Our photographer was taking the last picture of the night.
Our DJ was playing our last song.
Our limo was leaving Stewart Manor Country Club.
But we weren't going to let the reception ending stop our party.
My parents organized a little after party at the hotel. After going up to our beautifully decorated room to drop off our luggage (and ditch the heels I'd been wearing all night long!) AJ and I headed back downstairs to hang out with our guests for a little bit.
And before we knew it, it was time to go to bed so we could get up in the morning to head here.
Can you believe it? Its over! These recaps seem to have flown by just as quickly as our actual wedding did!
I do have one more little thing to share with you next week, but then its time to move on to something else. Just like real life I guess, hahaha!
I hope you enjoyed these recaps as much as I've enjoyed sharing them with you :)

Honey Stick Favors {Wedding Recaps}
We knew right off the bat that AJ and I both really wanted to give edible favors. But we had so much trouble picking what exactly that would be.
We went through everything from caramel apples to black and white cookies to jars of honey. But there were problems with each:
Caramel Apples: They come in bulk. As in, not in individual bags. So we'd have to be putting sticky apples into plastic bags the night before the wedding. Drama I did not need.
Black and White Cookies: My favorite cookies of all time. But AJ's not such a fan. And they totally didn't go with our wedding colors. Besides, I'd probably eat all of the cookies before the wedding. Then I wouldn't fit into my dress and we'd have to buy more favors!
Jars of Honey: There were two problems with this favor. One was that the company didn't want to ship until September, and like the caramel apples, I didn't want to assemble favors the week before the wedding. And we had a lot of people traveling, and I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to bring them back in their suitcases with the TSA liquid restrictions. But we still loved the idea of honey!
So we finally settled on a favor, and I couldn't have been happier with it!
Honey straws. Basically, little one serving straws full of honey. Easy to transport, in our wedding colors and we could assemble them way before the wedding day!
We decided to go with four different flavors of honey {CLOVER CINNAMON WILDFLOWER CARAMEL} and bundle them in groups of five.
This came together so super easy. It took four people less than an hour to bundle these all together!
We printed up two sets of labels: one with our names and wedding date, the other with the type of honey and punched them out.
Then, we just wrapped the bundles with raffia, slipped the labels on and voila! Favors!

Cake + Pie Bar + Almost Taking Out My Cousin with the Bouquet {Wedding Recaps}

The night was quickly coming to an end (sadly!) But we still had a few things left to do before dancing the night away.
And one of those things was cutting the cake.
We were really excited about the cake, because it was a chocolate cake with a white chocolate mousse filling and was supposed to taste like Devil Dogs from Drake's Cakes. Of course, the only bite of cake we had was the one we fed each other. There's always the frozen top layer we will have in a few months, I guess!

Yeah...I could have definitely used some practice with that!
Did you have any throwing mishaps at your wedding? And did you get to actually eat your cake? I'm still sad that I didn't!

Bachelor Party {Mini Album}
Happy Tuesday!
I am so glad that I finally found some time to scrapbook this week and I was able to finish up this mini album that I started way back in February!
Last summer, I made two mini albums with the Bella Blvd. Engaged at Last line - one for my shower and one for my bachelorette party. So I wanted to make a matching one for AJ's bachelor party. But AJ's bachelor party was a lot closer to the wedding than mine, so it took a long time for this album to get put together.
I left a blank journaling square to fill in where they ate, what they did, etc. But I have to get the information from AJ, and I keep forgetting to ask him! That's what happens when I scrap when he isn't home.
Do you ever create matching albums or mini albums for events? I can't think of too many things were I'd be able to do this, but I loved doing it for our bachelor/bachelorette parties!

Surprises and Secret Dances {Wedding Recaps}

Last week, I told you all about the dancing.
But, I'd saved a few special dances for their very own post. And here it is!
I had picked out the song for our father-daughter dance many many years ago. When I was little, my dad would always sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" to me. Even though it isn't a traditional father-daughter song, its always been our song and I really wanted to use it for our dance.
The original plan was to surprise my dad with the song, but he had picked out a different song ("I Loved Her First") so I decided to tell him my plan and let him decide. Fortunately, he was totally on board with my song.

There was another surprise at the wedding though. AJ's mom passed away while he was in college, and at first, he was not planning to have a dance. But, a few months before the wedding, he told me that he would like to dance with my mom, and wanted to keep it a surprise from her.

There was one more secret at the wedding. Man - I didn't realize how many secrets and surprises were involved in this wedding until I started writing this post!
My brother is definitely more reserved that I am. As in, really funny and sarcastic and probably the funniest person I know I say probably so my husband and father don't get upset, but he definitely is, but he doesn't like to be forced to be the center of attention.
Normally, that is just fine, since I love to be the center of attention. It worked out really well growing up, most of the time. But this time, I really wanted to dance to "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story with my brother. And he didn't want everyone to stop what they were doing and look at us out on the dance floor all by ourselves. So we planned a secret dance.

And it didn't stop me from singing along with every word of the song (much to the surprise/shock/dismay of my brother...)
But it was so great to be able to share that special moment with him, especially since we haven't lived in the same state since he went off to college...seven years ago!
Our last dance, which was a surprise to us when planning our wedding was our "second dance". When our DJ asked what song we wanted for our second dance, I was so confused! I'd never heard of a second dance before.
But basically, after the parent dances, AJ and I were called out to dance to another song that is special to us, "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking". And unlike the first dance, after the first part of the song, we asked all of our guests to join us.

Reception Decor: Centerpieces + Table Numbers {Wedding Recaps}

So you already know that I went crazy with burlap at the reception
But that wasn't the only thing we decorated with.
I also went a little crazy with mason jars.
Seriously, I have no idea how James, our maitre'd, understood everything I wanted for this wedding. I dropped off boxes and boxes of burlap and mason jars and chalkboards and a tree with three pages of hand written notes and he managed to make it look exactly like I imagined.

Reception Decor: Burlap Banners {Wedding Recaps}

For me, one of the most exciting things about wedding planning was the decor.
I had a really specific idea in mind for our reception decor, and it involved burlap banners.
Fortunately, before our engagement photo shoot, I perfected my technique for creating no sew burlap bunting.
And you know I put that good use for the wedding!
![]() |
Photo Credit: Ruby Star Photography |
- burlap
- felt
- marker
- iron on bonding
- twine
- iron + ironing board
- kitchen towel
- stencil
- acrylic paint + paint brush
Once upon a time, I created a tutorial with pictures. This is just an updated version of it.
- Trace a bunting shape onto your felt + cut it out.
- Lay one felt bunting piece on your ironing board. Place a strip of Stitch Witchery along each side of the triangle.
- Now is a great time to add the twine so it is “sewn” into the bunting. Just lay a piece across the top of your bunting. Be sure to leave enough to tie your bunting on one side, and enough to add the other bunting pieces on the other.
- Carefully place a piece of burlap on top of the bunting. Be careful not to knock off the Stitch Witchery or twine! Iron as directed.
- Cut out your bunting using the felt as a guide. Be very very very careful not to cut the twine!
- Repeat until all of your pieces are cut out. Just keep lining them up along the same piece of twine, and when you get to the end. Trim so you have enough to tie your bunting on this side too.
- Stencil on your phrase with the acrylic paint + sponge brush.
- And then use the bunting everywhere you possibly can think of!
