Today, I'm out celebrating my bachelorette party, but I'm still sharing lots of fun things from my surprise shower last week!
I have to say, my friends and family were way too generous! All of the gifts I got were amazing, and I cannot wait to start using them all!
But, there were a few crafty things that I just have to highlight for you because, well, this is a crafty blog!
Table
How cute are these table numbers? Each table is numbered after an important date in our relationship. Do you notice something about the dates? I'm wondering if we should change our wedding date now!
Honeymoon Basket
I have never seen this before, but I love this idea. My two cousins, Ali and Sarah, put together this basket of goodies to use on the honeymoon. There is a beach bag, a towel, flip flops, water bottles for AJ and I, sunscreen, magazines, a cover up, aloe, chap sticks and a ton more stuff - even a cigar for AJ! Oh and that fabulous hat that I'm wearing in the picture was in the basket! This is such a fun idea!
Framed Maps
One of AJ's good friends from college (and girlfriend of one of our groomsmen) came up with two really thoughtful and different ideas! First, she gave us a gift certificate to UPS to ship any gifts home that we couldn't fit on the plane. And we are definitely using it! And second, she made this beautiful frame highlighting Chicago and Baton Rouge. I love this, because it shows the two homes we have together!
"Its our new last name, and our wedding date, on rival jerseys."
When AJ and I went to St. Lucia last year, we saw a cute couple wearing matching Red Sox jerseys with their new last name and wedding date. Of course, I told my family about it when I got home, but AJ and I root for rival teams. So now, thanks to Tommy and his girlfriend Jamie, we have jerseys with our new last name, and our wedding date - but on our rival jerseys! I can't wait for the first Mets vs. Phillies game in 2014!
Etsy Basket
My mom put together this adorable basket full of fun things with my new last name, a bride sweatshirt, bride and groom rubber duckies, wedding poem candles, more candles from Yankee Candle, luggage tags, pillow cases and a personalized kitchen towel.
Now, my mom had never used Etsy before the wedding. But she's all about Etsy now. And she found two awesome vendors that she wanted me to share with you!
Crafting for Caleb My mom loved this shop. And she especially loved that all of the proceeds help out the owner's adorable son Caleb. In addition to the wedding items, she also has some really adorable baby things that would be perfect for a shower or a new baby!
eugenie2 So, there is a back story to these pillowcases. Under our last name should be the date of our wedding. When my mom ordered them, she got very concerned about the monogram (no one knew if it was the A first or the K!) In her worry about the monogram, she forgot to include our wedding date in the notes to the seller! Well, she got the pillowcases and right away realized her mistake. When she told the shop owner, Eugenie right away told her to mail them back and she'd fix them, no charge! Of course, the shower was that week, so they decided to wait until after the shower to send them back. I can't wait to see them with the date included!
Wow! There are some very crafty ladies in my life!
Do you ever gift crafty things for showers, birthdays or Christmas? What are your favorite crafty gifts or Etsy shops?
