Jillibean Soup Mystery Box

So, I had promised to share my Project Life Week 15 page today. I ordered the pictures at Walgreens and picked them up on my way home. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized that I had ordered the wrong pictures!

But, I did have some happy mail waiting for me, so I thought I'd share that instead!

On Friday, Christina at See Christina Scrapbook wrote a post about the Jillibean soup mystery box she bought. Of course, as soon as I saw all of the awesome goodies she received, I had to get one too!

The shipping was awesome. I ordered the box on Tuesday, and it was here by Thursday! How cool is that?!

Rows 1, 2 and 3: 50 sheets of paper! How cool is that?! My favorite is the Atomic Soup Line (top row) I've used that line before and can't wait to use it again!
Row 4: Two sets of clear stamps ~ 3 packs of journaling cards ~ green corrugated alphas (I can't wait to use these with Project Life!)
Row 5: Tons of stickers and alphabets ~ canvas stars ~ ribbon and heart shaped pins (I love the journey ribbon, I think I may save it for a page about our next big adventure!) ~ 6x6 pack of paper

How cool is this box?! I am just in love with it!

Do you have any fun plans this weekend? AJ and I are going to see Bruce Springsteen. This will be AJ's 1st Bruce concert (and my 14th? 15th? I lost track a long time ago!) I can't wait, I just hope it stops raining before tonight, because its outside!

$1 Project Life Stamps

Last week, I went to Michael's looking for their mason jar stamp (which I still can't find!). But, I did get tons of other stuff. I already shared this photo display that I bought, so today I thought I'd share the project life stamps I got for $1! I love the dollar stamp bin at Michaels! I also had a 15% off everything coupon and a birthday gift card from my Nonni, so it was just an awesome trip!

I love these stamps! I already used the "Oh my!" on my Week 7 layout!

I'm not sure which of these is my favorite, but I do like the "Life Unscripted" one!

This stamp wasn't $1, but it was on sale!

Smash book calendar washi tape, I can't wait to use it on a week!

I'm not sure why I bought this school themed paper, other than, I love all school related items!

I went back on Friday to see if they'd gotten the mason jar stamp in their Thursday shipment. They hadn't, but I had a 50% off coupon that was about to expire, so I picked up these markers that write on photos. This will be great for project life!

Now everything lives in this little box, just waiting for me to work on Project Life!

Well, I need to get in the shower! Its wedding dress shopping day!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a great Monday!

WOYWW: Valentine's Day Edition

There isn't too much going on on my workdesk today. Mostly just a big mess!

Although I made this card for AJ. I used Rhoda Designs digital stamps from Etsy (so wonderful!)

But that was all, because I've been working in the kitchen! I'll give you a sneak peak of the yumminess :)

Well, I have to run and rescue my flowers from my closed and locked office because 1-800-Flowers didn't feel the need to deliver them before 5pm. But you can check out more desks over Julia's blog.

Update: Well, we will never be using 1-800-Flowers. The rescue mission didn't work, because the flowers that had been "delivered" according to their email hadn't been. As of right now, we don't know where they are.

2pm: AJ calls 1-800-Flowers because I have not called him about getting flowers at my office. They tell him flowers are delivered up until 7pm. He asks to change to address to the apartment, since my office closes at 5pm. They say no.

Sometime after 2pm: AJ calls 1-800-Flowers again, customer service is unavailable. They are not answering phone calls. He attempts to check the order status online, and is told that order statuses are not available on Valentine's Day, but he can check tomorrow.

4:30pm: AJ calls me to see if I got the flowers. I have not. I try calling 1-800-Flowers to see if they are close and I should keep the office open a little past 5pm. According to the recording at their phone number, customer service is "too busy" to answer phone calls right now.

4:53pm: After a series of tweets, I get the attention of someone at 1-800-Flowers. They say they will work with me to get the address changed.

5:22pm: They say the address has been changed to my apartment address.

6:30pm: AJ receives an email stating that the flowers have been delivered to my office address. We don't actually receive this email until 7:30pm, after we finished dinner.

7:30pm: We call the front desk to see if the flowers are in our building. They aren't. Brownies are still in the oven.

8:00pm: Go downstairs, get my car and head to my office.

8:30pm: We arrive at my office to pick up the flowers. A co worker who was working late is still there. She said nothing had been delivered in the time we were not there. She said she hadn't even left to go to the bathroom.

10:00pm: Finally get customer service on the phone. They say the flowers have been to delivered, but no one signed for them, and no one can get in touch with the florist. I am told they are either a. on the truck, b. sitting outside my building (because the driver probably didn't have time to walk inside and give them to the door man, yes, that's what 1-800-Flowers told me) or c. sitting outside my office (they aren't, I was there). No one can tell me where they are. It was insinuated to me that its "unfortunate" that my building is on the street because they were probably left outside and taken! Then I was yelled at by the customer service rep for getting upset. AJ got on the phone, and was told I would still receive the flowers, but due to the fact that they had not honored the terms of the contact (guaranteed delivery on Valentine's Day, signature required for delivery).

10:05pm: I go downstairs just to make sure they weren't left outside my building. They weren't. My doorman took pity on me and gave me a rose because at this point, I was in tears. I'm going to make him a thank you card today.

10:28am: I receive a message on Twitter saying my order was canceled. Read: despite what AJ was told, I will not be receiving my flowers, on Valentine's Day or any day.

8:52am (Wednesday): I receive a response from 1-800-Flowers on Facebook saying they will do anything they can to rectify this situation. I private messaged them as requested and am now waiting for a response.

9:43am (Wednesday): After speaking to a customer service rep on the phone, AJ will be receiving a full refund, and my flowers will be delivered before 5pm today. Thank you very much to 1-800-Flowers for rectifying this situation. Now that we have a happy resolution, I can take pictures of my flowers and make a pretty scrapbook page detailing this debacle!

12:50pm (Wednesday): Was just told that a delivery attempt was made but no one was there so my flowers were brought back to the shop. It is a lie, as I have not left my desk all day! I have been on hold for 7 minutes waiting for a manger.

1:20pm (Wednesday): Finally spoke with a manager, was put on hold again while she contacted the florist. It seems the order for my flowers was never even placed, so it never went out for delivery, so they were not delivered. Now they are going to my apartment sometime today. We hope. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed, but I'm not going to count on it, because I really don't feel like crying any more than I have already. On the bright side - crying makes me not hungry, kicking off my new Weight Watchers week and I haven't used any points yet...I did manage to drink a cup of tea though.

5:31pm (Wednesday): Just got home from work, shockingly there are no flowers here. I'm on hold with 1-800-Flowers again. This is more than just about the flowers now, this is about principle. I do not like being lied to. The funny thing is, if they'd just fessed up to messing up yesterday, I wouldn't have cared at all. Its the lying and treating me like an idiot that I cannot stand.

5:51pm (Wednesday): Still on hold...I'm "next". I've been "next" for almost 10 minutes.

6:00pm (Wednesday): The flowers had never been sent (really? no way!). They will be sent tomorrow to my apartment.

2:41pm (Thursday): MY FLOWERS ARE HERE!

WOYWW 140

My workdesk is still mostly packed up from the Super Bowl Party...

But our old kitchen table has become my stamping and embossing station!

Okay, that's kind of a boring desk, but in my defense, the card I made hasn't been mailed to the recipient yet! Stop by Julia's and snoop on some more exciting desks!

200th Post!

It's my 200th post today! I never thought when I started blogging that I would have found such an awesome community of friends who are always there with ideas, inspiration and a lovely comment to keep me going :) Thank you to everyone who has made this the awesome experience that it is!

In honor of Valentine's Day Month starting tomorrow, I wanted to post some layouts from the scrapbook I made AJ in November. I'm going to leave out all of the mushy gushy I love you parts, because even a blogger needs a few secrets ;) but the pictures and fun stuff I can totally post! I'll show some today, and some later this week...

This is the cover page of the book. I used the We R Memory Keepers Be My Valentine collection for the stickers and cards, and the blue backgrounds are from the Echo Park Summer Days giveaway I won from Mary Pat - you should check our her blog if you haven't. She's awesome! I'll wait for you to get back :)

Of course I had to include the story of how we met. You can read it in this picture, or I'm sure I will post it one day special :) The "How did you meet" is from a Lawn Fawn's Sally's ABC's set, the "love stays in bloom all year round" and "love letters" are We R Memory Keepers Be My Valentine, and the little tag at the bottom is Jillibean Soup Sweet and Sour Soup card stock labels.

Okay, this will be the last page for today :) Most of the pages in the scrapbook are like this. A bunch of pictures from one season (in this case, spring) and a big journaling block about that season. The big blue page here is actually from the We R Memory Keepers Spookville Collection - I like that I was able to use it for a not Halloween project :)

Well, its getting late and I should get this posted! Have a wonderful Tuesday! :)

A Trip to Staples is Almost as Dangerous as a Trip to Michaels

Sunday, I dropped AJ at the driving range and decided to run to Staples to pick up page protectors for Ali Edward's One Little Word project at Big Picture Classes.

I got there around 11:45am, and they were closed! Apparently, Staples doesn't open until noon! I'm still feeling a bit incredulous about it...

But, that didn't stop me from buying lots of fun things once they opened the door! (I know I know, what about the spending freeze Katie? Shhhh...don't mention that right now! Its still on...but I need most of this stuff to complete some projects, except the journaling pages. I didn't need those...oops!)

Lots of different sized page protectors...the trading card sized ones were waaay cheaper at Staples than the scrapbook ones. But because they are for trading cards, they are also acid free and archival!

These day planner pages caught my eye as a fun way to add journaling to a layout. I can't wait to use them!

I got some of these envelopes and scalloped cards for Christmas and I love using them. I picked up some Valentine's Day themed ones!

I also picked up tons of index cards and index card dividers for this project that I found on Pinterest:

I'm really excited that mine is almost done! I wish I had picked up a date stamp though, I wrote all the dates in on my index cards by hand, and used my calendar stamps to decorate the dividers. So far, I did January and February, but then I stopped for dinner! (Um, I'm not sure why these photos are upside down)

Well, I'm off to work on this rainy Monday morning. I hope everyone has a great day!

Lawn Fawn Thankful Cards

On Saturday, I posted about the new Lawn Fawn stamps I bought. I really wanted to make the thankful cards that Lawn Fawn had on their blog a few weeks ago.

So, Saturday afternoon, while AJ was golfing, I made some :)

I basically followed the video exactly, except I used only red and orange Martha Stewart inks, because I didn't have any Tim Holtz distress inks. And I also did not distress the white paper, because I didn't have the right ink colors, and it just made my scrap paper look dirty!

For my background paper, I used a bronze metallic Martha Stewart ink, and just dragged it across some light brown paper, it give it some sheen.

I love how it looks :)

I want to incorporate them into a scrapbook layout, but I'm not sure how yet...

Back in the New York Groove

This weekend, AJ flew out to Kansas City for a boys' weekend, and I flew back to New York to see my family!

I didn't want to say anything before, but since AJ is back in Chicago now, I don't feel like I am advertising the fact that we aren't home! (Not that I think anyone is actually to go do anything, but why tempt the fates?)

It was a great weekend! I got to see my parents, and my Ben, and my Nonni. And, I got to see my best friend, Liz. It was great to be able to see everyone before we go back for Thanksgiving, which will be so busy!

Because I was in New York, I didn't get any crafting done this weekend, but my mom and I did spend all day Saturday shopping. We went to Home Goods, Macy's, Wal Mart and Michaels. I wasn't planning on buying anything, except at Wal Mart and Michaels, because the tax is so much less here than in Chicago! But, of course, I ended up buying more than that!

So, instead of having a card or layout to post today, I am going to post pictures from my trip to New York!

First up, is Ben, our dog. He still lives in New York with my parents. He is very hard to take pictures of, but he was waiting so nicely to come inside, I couldn't help grabbing my camera. But it was very nice out, so the extra 30 seconds outside were okay for Benny :)

My mom decorated for Halloween too, and I just love seeing the decorations! This little guy is my favorite one. He just looks so friendly and sweet :)

She also put up the candles and the Halloween banner. But I forgot to take pictures of those!

We went shopping on Saturday, which was awesome! I got this dress for $13, on sale from $49! And I had a rewards certificate to Macy's, so I actually paid $0 for this dress!!!

We went to Homegoods too. I got some things I needed, like the sink mat, slotted spoon and door hanger. But I also got some things that were fun...like the Peppermint Hot Chocolate and the Merry Christmas light up thing.

And this fabulous Martha Stewart Stamp set, that will definitely be part of my Christmas tags this year. And I got it crazy on sale, only $1.99!

Of course I went to Michaels. I had forgotten my 40% off coupons in Chicago, and my parents don't have a printer (I took it with me when I left!) so I couldn't print out a coupon! But, the woman on line behind us had three, so she gave my mom and I each one! I was able to buy my Xyron sticker refill that I needed!

And, they were having a sale on Cricut cartridges. I was between this one, and Who Gives a Hoot, but they didn't have that one, so it made my decision really easy!

And, I found these awesome baking cups in the dollar section!

We also went to Wal Mart and Penny's and picked up some cute shirts, and fun socks :)

And on top of all of the things we bought, my mom had gotten me these decorations for my apartment! I can't wait to get home and put them out. And fill up the pumpkin candy dispenser with Reese's pieces :) They are the perfect colors for fall, and one of my favorite candies!

Well, I'm off to get some crafting done :) I hope you had a fabulous weekend, and enjoyed seeing all the fun things I'm bringing home from New York!

Out of this World Birthday Card

My brother's birthday is on Friday, and I wanted to make him a card. I'm loving stamping and coloring with my Bic Mark Its right now (thanks for the idea Becky!). I used a Recollections stamp set, I can't remember the name of it, and I can't find it online! But it has these stamps, and a dinosaur and a lion and a dog and other things. I really like it. I'll keep searching for the name.

I love the little robot guy, so I decided to give him a space ship, and a planet and make him out of this world!

Out of this World Birthday Card

This is on the inside of the card:

And of course, I had to use some stickles on the lights on his head!

Well, that's all for me today! Have a great day!

Lawn Fawn Haunted House

I got a package from Lawn Fawn yesterday! In it, was this adorable haunted house, and I couldn't wait to break it out! I love my stamps, but I have trouble sometimes, because I don't have Copics, and I don't know what to use to color it. But then Becky mentioned she colored her new stamps with her Bic Mark Its! Well, I have a ton of Bic Mark Its! I have a whole set...well, except the black...I bought them a long time ago for a school thing, and I never thought to color my stamps in with them!

So, I broke out my stamp, my Martha Stewart inks and my embossing powder and had a stamping party! Well, it was just me, but I was having fun!

I used Woody Brown, Key Lime, Plumtastic Purple, Sweet Orange and Lemon Bliss (which I forgot to put in the picture, but its the yellow I used for the windows).

I really love this stamp. I used Halloween colors (although I don't know if I love the green on the one side of the house, I think I should've done it orange and left just the porch green, but, I still love it!)

My favorite thing about this stamp is that if you use different colors, it doesn't have to be haunted, it can just be a cute house!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
