Early Sunday morning, after AJ and I checked out the cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge, we decided to explore the area a bit.
We've been there before, but always on busy Friday or Saturday nights. This time, it was empty. I've never seen anything like it. Even the coffee shops were closed!
But, this isn't a residential type of downtown, its a working one. So I guess it makes sense. It also made for a lovely walk, and some fun picture taking!
Red
I love the pop of red in this restaurant's logo. I've been inside, although not to eat, just to meet up with some people who'd just eaten. I've heard good things though!
White
A white facade on an otherwise tan building.
Blue
AJ wanted to dress up a bit for church - which means a button down, jeans and a blue blazer. I really love his blue blazer, so I'm not going to complain!
Stars
Okay, this was not in downtown Baton Rouge. This is one of my Ikea lanterns. I turned off most of the lights to get this picture. At night. After AJ went to bed. Despite my fear of the dark, especially when a scary movie is having lots of commercials lately. See, that's how much I like you guys!
Sparkle
So, its confession time...I messed up this prompt. I thought it was "stripes". And there are lots of stripes here - the train tracks, the rocks, the water, the barges, the horizon, the clouds...and then I realized when I went to post this that I was wrong. But I still really love this picture, so its okay this one time, right?

Of course it's ok. I've messed up on the prompts too but your water is also sparkly! I love the Ikea lantern shot and you are right about the scary movie commercial being on like every other one right now!
AJ looks handsome in his blue blazer. I love the white shot and that red sign and restaurant look interesting.
Haha, I would probably mess up all of them!! :) Gorgeous photos, as always Katie :)
always love your photos! awesome
That last shot is magnificent! The clouds look so amazing. who cares? Great shot!!!
That's funny--I kept thinking "stripes" instead of "sparkle" this week, too! Loved all of your shots, but especially your last one. I'm really glad you included it. :)

Again I love your take on these prompts.
Even the sparkle one ;)
I love how the green trees draw your eye up to the white facade instead of the eye being drawn to the dark windows. I had to look at it several times before I realized where my eye wants to rest... not in the green but right on the bottom of the green emphasizing the white. Wonderful! I kept thinking stripes all week too. Your sparkle photo is still great... and yes the water sparkles. It is like you just lined everything up, even the clouds. Great set!
Love how you captured Stars....and the rest our fabulous as well...even Sparkle! :)
I think we've all messed up at some point. or spelled something outrageously wrong (darn that ipad speller).
Loved your RED picture the best - perhaps the rich clarity of the lettering?
did you notice I'm posting on your blog late? ha! checking this week's SHS words & noticed you had posted. See ya tomorrow.
