While we were outside taking pictures, James, our awesome matire'd, brought us some of the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres outside.
They were so delicious, and only made us want to get to the party quicker!
Fortunately, our photographers were awesome, and captured all of the pictures we wanted very quickly so we didn't miss too much of our cocktail hour!
When we finally got inside, the very first thing we did was sneak a peak at the reception room (but I'll save that for a little later)...
And then we headed straight to the bar!
Even though we had a full open bar, we decided to each highlight one of our favorite drinks. And I couldn't pass up an opportunity to make a chalkboard ;)

One of the things I loved about Stewart Manor Country Club was the cocktail hour room. There is a very pretty foyer, which opens right onto the cocktail hour room - it kind of makes you feel like you are in someone's house!
And then there was AJ's favorite thing - the bar was set up like an actual bar. It was in its own room that was open onto the cocktail hour room and the reception room (although that door remained shut during cocktail hour!) and surrounded by tall tables with pub stools.
And everyone definitely enjoyed the bar :)

Everyone else ate though! And I am still jealous that I wasn't able to grab a quesadilla from the quesadilla bar - I was so excited about that!

What is your favorite part about weddings?

That's my favorite part of a wedding too. I'm glad you got a few treats and got to spend a little time in the cocktail hour with everyone. It sounds like it was held in a gorgeous room!! That's so cool about your His and Hers signature cocktails. I've never even had an Old Fashioned! I could go for a pumpkin martini right now!
Great photos, I love the unstaged photos :)
A quesadilla bar..how cool is that!!!
I am not a drinker so I could pass on the bar, but love the food at weddings :)
How fun!! I love the chalkboard too, highlighting each of your favorite drinks :) so many personal details in your wedding, I love that!! My favorite part of a wedding has to be when the bride walks down the aisle :)
Sounds like the cocktail hour was a big hit. It is crazy how much time the bride and groom to be plan to have just the right food and then they rarely end up getting to sample any of it themselves! Have a great weekend!
Love the chalkboard! I think weddings are so much fun. It's hard to pick a favorite part. But I loved our first dance together :)
