Get Me to the Church on Time {Wedding Recaps}

We'd all gotten ready, and I was in my dress, so they only thing left to do was take a few pictures and get in the limo.

Which proved harder than we thought.

Our makeup artist ran really really far behind. Like, my mom was still getting her makeup done as we were supposed to be leaving for the church.

I was freaking out, to say the least. The last thing I wanted to do was be late, because the church was super super strict on being late. As in, if you are too late, they won't do the ceremony!

So while my mom was finishing up her makeup, they distracted me with pictures.

We did a "first look" with my dad, which wasn't really a first look, since he'd been there while I was getting ready, and was there when I bought my dress. But it was the first time he saw it all put together :)

In that last picture, we were talking about how hard it was to walk around the dress without stepping on it! I had a huge veil and train, which AJ and my dad both said were super hard to move around. I think AJ was saying "sorry" every five minutes for stepping on my dress (which totally hurt by the way - because it would either pull my hair or pull the slip that was tied onto my hips super tight!) until it was bustled!

But, my dad didn't pull my veil or my dress. And by that time, my mom's makeup was done, we we did a few photos of me putting on my mom's and grandmother's corsages. Aren't their dresses pretty? I loved both of the dresses they picked out!

Then it was time for a few quick photos before getting into the limo. Despite the time crunch, we ended up having just exactly enough time to take a few photos and get into the limo!

Yay! All my worries were for nothing :)

Meanwhile, things at the church seemed much more relaxed. The boys got there super early so they could put on their boutonnieres and take lots of pictures!

We had decided not to have the photographer go to the hotel to take pictures of the boys getting ready. The hotel was just a little too far away, and we really didn't have time to have both the girls getting ready and the boys getting ready pictures. So the girls won on the getting ready pictures. But we still got great pictures of the boys!

Exactly on time, we arrived at the church, and the boys had to go hide (well really, AJ had to go hide, the other ones didn't really need to!)

Right before we walked down the aisle, I had a little surprise present for each of my parents. A little handkerchief, embroidered with a special note for each of them.

 And then it was time...everyone lined up, and we were ready to go!

Did you get to your wedding on time? I'm so glad we did - I would have hated if they cut part of our ceremony out because we were late!
