December Daily {Cover + Saturday, December 1}

We now interrupt this regularly scheduled blog to bring you December Daily.

Okay, that's not entirely true. It won't be entirely interrupted. I'll still be doing Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Project Life Friday. But other than that, its all December Daily, all the time!

December Daily is the only project all year that I complete digitally. I tried doing it the "traditional" way and it just didn't work for me. So last year, I tried making a Shutterfly book.

And I loved it!

It is so easy to upload my pictures every evening (something I've been doing anyway for Project Life) and then drop them in my photo book. I just add the journaling and I'm done. If I'm feeling especially fancy, I add some stickers and embellishments.

You can see last year's album here: December Daily 2011 some of the posts are temporarily missing pictures, they are in the process of being fixed

And you can see this year's album here, every day :)

The cover of this year's album. I went with the more vintage album this year. So far, I'm loving it!

Saturday, December 1, we invited our friends over for a cookie swap. We had a great time, and I was so glad that so many of our work friends could attend. It was so nice to see everyone outside of work. And, of course, the cookies were amazing! We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition.

I forgot to take any pictures during the party, but I did snap this picture of the table all ready for the cookies. This table ended up being PACKED with cookies! I couldn't believe how many people brought.

Ironically, I don't really like cookies! But I did make my favorite cookies to bake - Nestle's Toll House Chocolate Chip. You can find the recipe on the back of the bag, or you can click here. I also made peanut butter cookies, but I used a new recipe, and it wasn't my favorite. So I won't share that one with you!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything special to kick off December?

Going to be a great album!
And it's a fun shot to have for your first day :)
We did actually put up our Christmas tree this weekend. We have so many fun and meaningful ornaments that it always puts me in the holiday mood when I unpack them!

I am always amazed at how on the ball you always are....you are a scrapping rock star! I love your first page and am so glad that your cookie exchange was a success!

I love that vintage look! I might have to try the digital route next year! I went digital with my boys' sports albums this year and it was a HUGE relief-I just take so many pictures, it was much easier. I never even thought about a digital December daily. Hmmmnnn...
It was 60 degrees and sunny on Dec 1st here, so we celebrated by going outside and playing. The husband even mowed the lawn-not very Christmasy. LOL

That's a great idea for an album!! I love the cover ..it's off to a great start! Your table looked great! Isn't it always the way to not get any photos during the party!? It's so hard to do both!
Nestle Toll House are one of my faves and I think it just wouldn't be Christmas without them!!
I'm going to go check out your book from last year.

I loved your album last year and that your doing it digitally again this year. The cover and first page look awesome! So glad the cookie exchange went great! We didn't do anything Christmasy to kick off December. Abie had a volleyball tournament Saturday and we went out for Grandma's birthday on Sunday :)

What a GREAT idea! I didn't even think about doing a digital album like that. Going to have to remember that for next year.
