Fall Door Decor

I have 3 hooks on my door because of our Christmas decor, and I never took them down (yeah, from 10 months ago!)

So I decided to make a fall display with our initials. I'm very wedding-minded this season!

I used my favorite fall line - the Recollections Night and Fall paper pack. The "K" and "A" letters were cut from the Speaking of Fall Cricut cartridge, and the & was cut from the Plantain School Book Cricut cartridge.

I am pretty happy with how it all came out. It gets a little crooked when I use the door too much (like in this picture) but I kind of like that!

I'd also like to just take a moment to remember 9/11, all of the people we lost, the survivors, the heros and the families affected.

More Halloween Decorations

I added some Halloween decorations to the living room Thursday. I just thought the windows needed something. But the haunted house looked better in the bathroom!

I just didn't like how anything looked in the center window, but AJ suggested putting ghosts on the smaller side windows. He was right, that was the perfect place to put decorations!

First, I cut out this adorable spider and his web from the eclips Halloween and Scaredy Cat Alphaber cartridge. I cut the web up so that I could put part of it on each corner of the window.

Isn't he just the cutest?

Then, on the other window, I cut out some ghosts! I cut these from the Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge. They are actually supposed the be a layer for a kid's costume on the cartridge, but I just cut out this layer and made it a ghost for the window!

AJ thinks they look like Pac Men ghosts...

Yeahhhh, he may have a point!

Well, I'm off to work, have a wonderful Monday!

Fall Decorations

I have a lot of my Halloween decorations up, but I also a few fall decorations that can stay up through Thanksgiving :)

I love my Happy Harvest fence. I saw it at Michaels when I was in New York, but it was $12.99 (I think, something like that). But when I went to Michaels last week, it was on sale for $4.99! Of course I got it! (um, you can ignore the Ikea-bag-turned-laundry-basket in the background...we did tons of laundry today!)

I love how it looks on my table with my Ikea lanterns. I just love these lanterns, I had the exact same ones in my bedroom growing up, so when I saw them again at Ikea, I bought them for my apartment.

I wanted to make some fall candles to go along with this, to either put on my kitchen table, or on the big window. I'm not sure yet.

I used the Cricut Speaking of Fall cartridge. The background paper actually has a little shimmer to it, but you can't really see it in the picture...

Have a great Thursday!

Yes, There is a Haunted House in my Bathroom

Today I'm linking up with Julia at the Stamping Ground for What's On Your Work desk Wednesday.

On my work desk was the start of a happy Haunted House.

I wanted to put my happy haunted house on my window, but when I tried it, it didn't look so great. I have a pretty view, and it kind of took over the view, and I didn't love how it looked.

But then I had an idea. And this idea has a back story, of course!

I get scared of the bathroom mirror around Halloween.

To be honest, I get scared of everything around Halloween. I don't like horror movies, ghost stories, or the  commercials for all the scary movies that are on.

Which is sad, because I love the cute Halloween stuff, the happy ghosts (like the one waving here), smiling witches, candy, dressing up, the movie Hocus Pocus, not scary haunted houses. But the scary stuff, nope, not for me!

The new Paranormal Activity commercial scared me beyond belief. AJ warned me not to watch it. He knows that there is one scary story in particular that really frightens me. So he told me, when you see the new Paranormal Activity commercial, close your eyes or change the channel, you won't like it.

And it came on Saturday, while I was scrapbooking, and I couldn't find the remote. So, I threw my hands over my ears and closed my eyes and waited for it to be over. But of course, it happened to be the extra long version of the commercial  so when I looked up, it wasn't over.

I saw the scariest part.

And I've been afraid of the bathroom ever since. Like, won't shut the door, wouldn't go in the middle of the night and waited for AJ to wake up so I could go pee with someone else awake.

So I decided to put my happy haunted house in the bathroom, to make me smile, instead of scared! (Don't you love how seriously I'm focusing in the picture!

I love my happy haunted house :)

If you're wondering how I made it...the fence, black paper and purple paper are from the We R Memory keepers Spookville line, all the other papers were in my stash. The door knob is an "h" brad I found in my stash, and everything was cut from the Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge. I'm thinking I'm going to go back and go over the window panes in black...

Have a great Wednesday!

Mets vs. Phillies Layout

I wanted to do a layout about baseball. AJ loves the Phillies, and I am a Mets fan through and through. This has caused more than a few problems. You see, the Mets and Phillies are division rivals. I guess we've been lucky that our teams haven't both been good while we've been dating (and by that, I mean the Phillies keep going to the playoffs and the Mets keep ending up in fourth place).

But, that makes it even funnier when the Mets beat the Phillies, because he gets so mad when they lose to such a "bad" team. And I get mad when he calls my team bad.

I very rarely make one page layouts, but I thought I would try some :)

I wanted to do something with the colors. They clash, like the teams. So I cut out 2x2 squares of red (for the Phillies), and blue and orange (for the Mets). I didn't have to cut out any white, because I used a white page. I used them all to make a quilt.

I started drawing in "stitch" marks (you can see on the top row) but then I realized it made more sense to draw them in after I'd placed all my pictures, journaling and embellishments, so that I didn't have to draw as many! Aren't those little baseball players cute? I made them with the Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls. I love that cartridge, there are so many cute things you can use from it, and I love making the little people to go on the pages!

But I really love how the quilt marks pull it all together. Before, the colors weren't very cohesive, but the quilt lines made it all come together.

I really like how it turned out!

Scrapbook!

I am packing up all of my scrapbook materials, because I need to get the back room cleaned out so I have somewhere to keep all of the boxes. So, I've been trying to scrap the pictures I have right now, so I'm not opening them up again in a month and can't remember what I planned to do!

I'm in the middle of a page about my ring (I really love it so much) but I don't have the pictures in yet, so I'll have to wait until Friday to finish that.

But, I was able to scrap the pictures of our trip to Chicago last week.

This page is a little plain for me, but I wanted to use the "Chicago" embellishment from the Destinations cartridge on Cricut. I also made the embellishment into a folder to hold the extra pictures from the trip!

An up close picture of the folder. I had a lot of trouble getting the letters cut cleanly. This was the best one I had!

And I thought I would just leave you with some cute pictures for the day.

My dog, Ben, sleeping in the corner. His bed is literally two steps away from him (on the other side of the steps) but he chose the sleep there instead! Silly Bennies.

I saw this little guy crawling along the side walk by my middle school, walking across the street to get to the trees on the other side. He was moving a lot faster than I thought a turtle would, but he got a little scared when he saw I was there (he started to hide in his shell, so I put my cell phone away, then he came out again). He ended up jumping off that curb to cross the street. I felt so bad, because he just walked off the curb, reaching out his arms, until he jumped/fell into the street! You could hear his shell crash on the ground, but he seemed unshaken, he just kept on walking along.

A Clean Scrapbook Room and a New Layout

I love to see how other people have their scrapbook rooms/corners/desks set up, I am a huge organizer, so I'm always looking for new ways to organize! I wanted to post pictures of my room, so I could remember what it looked like after I move and have to re-set it up! It had to wait until I was on Spring Break, so I could finally clean up my scrapbook room! Well, my half of it at least...

I love the bookcases from Ikea! I have three of them, two standing on either side, and one lying down in the middle. I left the dividers out of the second shelf on both the vertical bookcases to fit my eclips (in the picture) and my cricut (not in the picture). I really love this set up! I hope I can keep the shelves like this when we move...only we won't need it as a tv stand anymore, so that will become my desk (the desk I currently have is way too big to fit into any apartment!)
I was inspired by my newly cleaned room to scrap some pictures I found while I was cleaning. I love to make chocolate chip cookies (in fact, there are some in the oven right now!) My brother, dad and boyfriend all love these cookies...I actually don't like cookies, or sweets really, except flourless chocolate cake, but I'm alone in that one! So, I decided to make a page featuring the recipe (hahaha, its just the Toll House one), as well as some pictures of the steps of making the cookies.
I also used my cricut everyday paper dolls to make the "cook" in the corner. I didn't mean for it to be so tall, but I originally planned on using different hair that wasn't quite as tall. Its okay though, I love the hair because it reminds me of how I wear mine when I'm cooking! I also added stickles to the pocket and ribbon of the apron...I just got my first set of stickles (I could never find them by me, but I found them by AJ in Delaware...and the best part? No sales tax!)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Cricut Expression

The Cricut Expression and the Gypsy came just now!!! I just got them out of the box. I have to wait to play with it though - I have some planning and grading to finish up before I can play...at least I have some motivation to get my work done efficiently! Plus, I need something to do tonight, AJ is flying back from Baton Rouge and I'm waiting for him to land :)

I just wish I had some pictures to scrap! There are a ton of November birthdays in my family, I can always start the birthday cards!

Cricut Expression

As a teacher, election day means conference day. This year, we skipped the lunch break so our day ended early - which means that I got home early enough to catch the scrapbooking hour on HSN. Today, they were featuring the Cricuit Expression and Gypsy together crazy on sale! I couldn't turn down the price, so I turned off the tv...unfortunately for me and my credit card, I left my computer on. Long story short, it'll be here soon. I can't wait to start using it!

Anyway, I'm off to finish my Halloween pages, hopefully I will get at least one posted tonight!
